List of authorities

List of authorities that we connect our Qi CMS to via Linked Open Data (API) and so far we have the

Getty Thesauri,

Wikipedia,

VIAF

Geonames.

Nomenclature(don't have a public API), but we can download them and import them into the database.

The big one we cannot seem to be able to figure out is
LOC (Library or Congress) and
specifically the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH)
and Thesaurus for Graphic Materials (TGM).

Is anyone aware of an API that (like the vocab.getty.edu) could be queries via SPARQL or anything similar?
Failing that, can they be downloaded in a usable format (i.e. one we can import in a database)?
For TGM, XML and TXT files are here, (although a little strange, as they have no formal hierarchy),
but we cannot find an equivalent for LCSH: this page lists a few formats,
but it's not clear how to download them or indeed use them.

Integrations of LCSH and LCNAF for the upcoming new release of EmbARK 11.
The data sets are definitely much different than the nice structure provided with the AAT,
but we have implemented a way to provide a browsing interface when applying these terms within our system (by using Broader Terms when available).

This page might be helpful for you: https://libraryofcongress.github.io/data-exploration/requests.html

EmbARK 11 also integrates with the Linked Open Data API for the AAT. When the Nomenclature API becomes available, we will add that as well. (https://www.nomenclature.info/integration.app?lang=en)

Chulalongkorn Library

OCLC APRC meeting 2018 participates visited Chulalongkorn Library on Nov. 29, Thursday afternoon around 17: 20.  The visit was scheduled after the second-day full meeting, about 80 participates staying with us for this visit. The visit was about an hour. We began our visit from the meeting room on the 7th floor and descended floor by floor. They first welcomed us with a small robot on the stage, the face showing in the robot later came out to be our guide today and the cataloging librarian of this library. (Sorry, I  forget his name but we were amazed that their cataloging librarian is male as a female cataloging librarian is more common.) He gave us a brief introduction to the library. Officially established in  1917, Chulalongkorn is the oldest and most prestigious university in Thailand. It is comprehensive and research-intensive and has rich collections in rare books as well as different languages and cultural collections, and many of them were ...
